Long road stretching through open landscape

How we work

Our Approach

Every consultancy publishes principles. The test of whether they are real is whether they ever cost the firm money. These four do, regularly, and we publish them so you can hold us to them.

Competitive advantage first

We map where you need to win before we talk about tooling, then work backwards to the technology and change required to get there. That order matters more than it sounds, because reversing it is the most common and most expensive failure in mid-market transformation.

DSIT’s research found that 71% of UK businesses not adopting AI cite the absence of an identified need. That is usually quoted as a failure of imagination. Read the other way, it is the most honest finding in the dataset: a large share of businesses looked hard, failed to find a problem worth solving, and declined to spend. Some of them are further ahead in the reasoning than the organisations already three vendors deep.

So the first question is never which capability you should buy. It is which decision is being made badly, what that is costing, and which layer of the business the problem actually lives in — which is usually not the layer it was reported from.

A programme framed as “doing transformation” has no failure condition, which sounds comfortable until you notice it has no success condition either.

Blended delivery

A Cyprus centre of excellence, nearshore specialists, and our UK and European partner network, scaling as you need.

The commercial logic is straightforward: mid-market businesses need senior judgement and delivery capacity, but rarely need both at the same volume at the same time. A model that charges senior rates for delivery hours, or delivery rates for senior judgement, mis-prices one of them. Ours is deliberately structured so you pay for what the work actually requires at each stage.

The Cyprus base is an EU centre of excellence with reach across the UK and Europe — useful for businesses with obligations on both sides of the post-Brexit divide, which increasingly means anyone whose AI systems touch the EU market.

AI and automation, governed

Applied only where they add real advantage, always with readiness, governance and security built in.

We do not run a separate AI practice, because a team whose revenue depends on the answer being AI will not tell you when it isn’t. Holding AI inside the four capabilities means the recommendation is arrived at rather than pre-committed — and it means we can tell you that a process redesign, better data, or a policy change would solve the problem for a fraction of the cost.

That is a commercially inconvenient position. We hold it because the alternative is charging you to answer a question you never asked. More on AI Enablement →

Long-term partnership

Repeatable methods and quality standards, within ongoing relationships rather than one-off projects.

Transformation delivered and abandoned reverts. The organisation returns to the workaround because the workaround is still faster, or the governance decays because nobody owns it after the programme closes. We would rather build capability that survives our departure than dependency that requires our return — and we structure managed services the same way, so they do not become an exit you cannot afford.

How an engagement usually runs

Four stages

Deliberately front-loaded. The cheapest place to change your mind is at the start.

  1. DiscoveryShort and deliberately small. Establish what is measurably costing you, instrument the baseline, and identify which layer the problem lives in. Sometimes the outcome is that no programme is required.
  2. DefinitionOne primary metric with a target and a date. Scope bounded in writing. A named owner, and an explicit failure condition — the point at which we would recommend stopping.
  3. DeliverySenior-led, blended to what the work requires. Governance sized to the risk. Change management budgeted properly rather than assumed, typically 20–30% of programme cost.
  4. HandoverCapability that survives us leaving: documented decisions, named ownership, and an evidence trail built during delivery rather than reconstructed afterwards.

What you can hold us to

  • We will tell you when the answer is not the one we are engaged to deliver
  • We will not claim a benefit against a baseline nobody measured
  • We will recommend stopping a programme that has stopped making sense, including our own
  • The people who scope your work will be the people who deliver it
  • We will decline work outside the sectors where we genuinely have depth

We can help you uncover where transformation moves the needle fastest, and whether AI belongs in the answer.
